The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline date to 30 June 2021 for the furnishing of the Taxpayer’s Profile required to be submitted under Section 114A , and issued a circular in this regard on Friday.
Earlier, the FBR had additionally issued an announcement declaring that the names of 1000’s of taxpayers can be struck off the Lively Taxpayers Record (ATL) for his or her failure to both submit or replace their taxpayer profiles by 31 March 2021 below Part 114 A of the Earnings Tax Ordinance, 2001.
The FBR has determined to proceed with this decision regardless of the chance of contracting the tax base
FBR Officers told Propakistani that the names of the taxpayers who have no updated profiles could be taken from them and that they could request the penalty to be filed and that the deadline for filing the profile of the taxpayer had been extended until 31 March.
The withdrawal of the names of taxpayers from the ATL might have an effect on a lot of taxpayers who will be unable to both file or improve their taxpayers’ profiles by 31 March.
Nonetheless, the FBR officers added that upon the submitting or updating of their profiles, such individuals can be allowed to be positioned again on the ATL on the situation of the fee of a surcharge of Rs.10,000 within the case of an affiliation of individuals, Rs.20,000 within the case of an organization, and Rs. 1,000 within the case of a person.
