Gwadar International Airport is going to be functional

Gwadar International Airport: An official from the Aviation Division told the Parliamentary Committee on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) on Thursday that the Gwadar International Airport will be functional by September 2023.

Advertisement Secretary Aviation Division, Hassan Nasir Jamy, who presented his department at the meeting, informed the committee that progress on Gwadar airport is on track and promised the committee that the project will be completed by September 2023.

While chairing the committee, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Sher Ali Arbab emphasized that Gwadar is the gateway to CPEC and is unquestionably important in the overall logic behind the multibillion-dollar project.

“We must prioritize it; consequently, no effort should be spared in resolving all pending difficulties of clean water, energy, infrastructures, and livelihoods faced by the people of Gwadar,” he stated.

Naseer Khan Kashani, Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority, stated at the briefing that work are on to complete the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCTVI) by December 2021.

He also stated that the authority is working with NAVTTC, Tevta, and China to develop a comprehensive curriculum for the institute.

The Chairman of the Gwadar Port Authority was instructed that the curriculum should be developed with current and future skill sets in mind.

“The curriculum for the institute should be designed in such a way that there is no gap between the skills necessary and those given in the institute,” said the committee chairman.
