Shaukat Tarin, federal Minister of Finance and Revenue, met with Dr. Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation, today in the Finance Division.
On the occasion, the SAPM complimented the Kamyab Pakistan Program (KPP) for giving relief to the underprivileged segments of society through improved financial empowerment opportunities, and reiterated complete support and facilitation.
Minister Tarin remarked that the KPP is based on the Prime Minister’s vision of a “bottom-up” approach. Its recipients will have easy access to zero-interest agriculture and business loans without the need for collateral.
Furthermore, the KPP will provide a low-cost housing scheme for low-income people, allowing them to buy homes. As a result, it will encourage financial inclusion.
Furthermore, the projected initiative is one of the world’s largest of its sort.
It will also lift at least three million families out of poverty over the next three to five years, with Rs. 1,600 billion distributed through various KPP products, Minister Tarin added.
