A misquoted comment about Pakistan Post being Amazon’s official logistics partner was recently circulated in the media.
As a result, the Ministry of Commerce has said that Pakistan Post is not an official partner of Amazon, and that enterprises in the local E-commerce industry are free to choose their preferred logistical services regardless of media allegations.
Prior to this explanation, Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, said nearly three months ago that “Pakistani entrepreneurs are eligible to sell on Amazon,” and that it was ready to cooperate with the country’s business community, including small and medium-sized vendors.
From a commercial standpoint, being listed to Amazon’s official Seller’s List is a tremendous boost for Pakistani firms. While products can be sent and delivered by any permitted operational vendor operating both locally and globally, Amazon has not designated a specific organization for the purpose in Pakistan.
