According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Pakistan textile industry exports increased by 22.94 percent during the most recent fiscal year 2020-21 and remained at $15.4 billion, as opposed to $12.526 billion during the previous fiscal year 2019-20. (PBS).
The PBS statistics on exports and imports revealed that the textile group’s exports increased by 57.81 percent on a month-to-month basis, reaching $1.660 billion in June 2021 as opposed to $1.051 billion in May 2021, indicating a 57.81 percent increase on a month-to-month basis.
In June 2021, textile exports increased by 73.08 percent compared to the same month the previous year, remaining at $1.660 billion, as opposed to $959.137 million in June 2020.
In the three months from July to June 2020-21, raw cotton exports fell by 95.27 percent, remaining at $0.804 million, compared to $17.002 million over the same time the previous year. They stayed at zero throughout June 2021, just as they had been in May 2021.
Cotton yarn exports increased by 3.26 percent between July 2020 and June 2020-21, remaining at $1.016 billion, compared to $984 million during the same period the previous year. They climbed by 67.76 percent during June 2021 and remained at $120.931 million, as opposed to $72.087 million during May 2021, and increased by 62.71 percent as compared to $74.323 million during the same month last year, bringing them to $120.931 million in total.
