Shibli Faraz: EVMs Will Ensure Quick, Free, And Believable Elections

Senator Syed Shibli Faraz, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, met with members from the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at the Ministry of Science and Technology.
During the meeting, the members were given a thorough demonstration of how the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) works and its significance in the electoral process.
Shibli Faraz stated:
It is the need of time to use technology for improving our electoral system. The EVM reduces the human interface. Hence, it is a tool towards efficient, free, and credible elections
The members went into great depth about their questions and reservations about the use of electronic voting machines. Members of FAFEN and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) thanked and applauded the work of Senator Syed Shibli Faraz, Minister of Science and Technology, and also shared their perspectives on the importance of public trust in the electoral process. He believes that electronic voting is the only way forward, and the Ministry is committed to improving the machine to its highest possible level in accordance with the regulations of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
