Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, has given the Privatization Commission instructions to develop procedures to get over obstacles impeding the seamless and quick privatisation of state-owned businesses.
On Saturday at Finance Division, the finance minister met with Abid Hussain Bhayo, the chairman of the Privatization Commission, to discuss the privatisation initiative.
The conference examined the programme for the privatisation of state-owned companies and covered a number of obstacles to the privatisation of National Power Parks Management Company Ltd. (NPPMCL) and other companies as well as bottlenecks in the process.
The concerns surrounding the completion of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited’s privatisation were also informed to the chair (PTCL).
Finance SAPM Senior executives, including Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Tariq Pasha, Secretaries of Finance and Privatization, attended the meeting.
