‘Change’ and ‘not being frightened’ are the themes of Jennifer Lopez’s new song Cambia El Paso, which she released just a few days after announcing her separation from Alex Rodriguez.
“The song is about change and not being afraid to take the first step,” she explained during a Thursday visit on Pitbull’s Globalization, a SiriusXM radio show hosted by Pitbull.
In Spanish, the phrase “Cambia El Paso” translates as “Change the Step.”
“Like, simply take the first step, go forward, and complete the task at hand. If something isn’t quite right in your life, whatever it may be, just make that move and dance,” she added of the song, which was written in cooperation with Rauw Alejandro. “Dance is life, joy, and happiness,” says the poet.
When it comes to dancing, the On the Floor singer clarifies that she is not referring to simply moving her body in a circular motion. “I’m talking about something completely different. “All she wants to do is dance, dance, dance, and then dance some more,” she stated emphatically. “You’ve got to get by. You have to be true to yourself. It’s imperative that you’re content. And that is what the album is all about.” –
