Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels were the basis for the first season of Netflix’s The Witcher, which became one of the platform’s most popular shows upon release at the end of 2019. (In addition, it renewed interest in the Witcher video game, as well as helping to launch a viral song.) The service has gone on to expand the fantasy universe since then. Additionally, there is a live-action spinoff series set 1,200 years before Geralt’s time, which is titled The Witcher, as well as an upcoming anime series called Wolf Girl and Black Bull.
The second season was completed in April of this year. During the first weeklong Netflix Geeked event, the news was announced. Check back for more info on the show on July 9th, when it will be revealed at an event called Witchercon, co-hosted by Netflix and CD Projekt Red.
