According to a senior government official, the Gilgit-Baltistan Development was the main priority of the present government.
Shaukat Tarin, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, stated at a meeting with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khursheed that all possible steps would be made to ensure the timely release of money for the progress and development of Gilgit-Baltistan through mega projects.
According to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry, the chief minister informed the finance minister about the strategic importance of Gilgit-Baltistan and highlighted the importance of the region’s socioeconomic and territorial development.
The steps being done to improve tourism in order to generate more cash for the local populace were also emphasized by him.
While tourism is a large and rising industry in Gilgit-Baltistan, there is a larger need to expand transportation infrastructure, as well as promote high-yielding crops and livestock products, according to Tarin, in order to put the province on an all-inclusive growth trajectory.
He went on to say that the news of Skardu becoming an international airport will herald the beginning of a new era of development in the field of tourism.
The finance minister told everyone that they would receive complete support and facilitation on the occasion.
