The Peshawar administration announced on Monday that unvaccinated persons’ SIM cards will be blocked beginning on August 31.

Deputy Commissioner Khalid Mehmood asked the concerned officials to guarantee that the district’s vaccination objective is met, and to block the SIM cards of those who do not get immunized by the end of the month.

Previously, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had advised inhabitants of five districts, including Peshawar, Mohmand, Khyber, Charsadda, and Nowshera, to undergo COVID-19 vaccines by August 31 or face having their SIM cards deactivated. Furthermore, Fawad Chaudhry, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, stated last month that SIM cards will be disabled if they were not voluntarily vaccinated.

“Major cities have been entrusted with vaccinating 40% of their eligible population in August, but the inoculation ratio remains low,” he stated.
