According to the Punjab government’s Insaaf Afternoon Schools project, all public schools in seven tehsils of Rawalpindi district would be upgraded before the end of the school year.
As an alternative to constructing new structures, the provincial government will convert primary schools in rural sections of the district into middle schools, with middle schools being changed into high schools during the afternoon shifts.
Not only will the decision save millions of rupees for the government, but it will also pave the road for out-of-school youngsters to return to school and complete their education as a result.
Provincial officials have requested proposals from the heads of the province’s schools by September 15, 2018.
Teachers assigned to the second shift will get a stipend, and in places where there is a dearth of regular teachers, locally educated youngsters will be hired on a lump-sum basis to fill the void.
