6.6 million doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine have been supplied to Pakistan through the United States’ COVAX global distribution programme, according to the company.
According to a tweet from the American Embassy in Islamabad, the news was announced as follows:
The U.S. has shipped another tranche of Pfizer vaccines to Pakistan. The 6.6 million doses will arrive in time to assist the Pakistani government to inoculate young and at-risk Pakistanis and mitigate the fourth COVID-19 wave.
It went on to say that this will raise the overall number of coronavirus vaccinations supplied to Pakistan by the United States to 15.8 million, an increase from the previous amount of 13.8 million. America is the largest contributor to COVAX’s efforts to ensure that coronavirus vaccinations are available to people all around the world.
Between now and then, the National Command and Operating Center (NCOC) has modified its immunisation requirements for residents under the age of 18 by permitting teenagers under the age of 18 to receive a Pfizer vaccine.
