Honor has just announced the official opening of its global headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The company announced the news earlier today (30th August 2021), as various R&D centres relocate to the new location.
The announcement was made on the brand’s official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website that also shared images of the new global headquarters. Furthermore, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer stated that the new site will house high-quality hardware facilities, sophisticated laboratory equipment, and a diverse office environment, all of which will help the company and its team grow. As of now, research and development centres from Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing, and other cities have relocated to the new location.
According to the company, the brand new environment will also enable Honor to provide the ultimate product experience to its customers through technological innovation. For those who are unaware, the headquarters is located in Shenzhen’s Futian District and has a total area of 39,000 square meters and a total size of 350,000 square meters. Notably, it is only 12 kilometers from the headquarters of its former parent company, Huawei.
The company sold Honor in November 2020 to ensure its survival, and the brand has operated independently from Huawei since then. The establishment of a new global headquarters is a significant step forward in the company’s efforts to expand further in its home country as well as in the international market.
