The Chinese manufacturer, OPPO, doesn’t have a flagship smartphone to release in the second quarter of the year like its competitors, but the company does have some interesting devices coming out before the year 2021 comes to an end. A fresh leak has not only disclosed that the company is working on a new smartwatch that will be released later this month, but it has also revealed information about other goods.
It is expected to be announced by the end of September as the OPPO Watch Free, and it will be the company’s second smartwatch this year. According to Digital Chat Station, the new smartwatch will be launched as the OPPO Watch Free. In July, the BBK-owned business introduced the OPPO Watch 2, a follow-up to its initial smartwatch, the OPPO Watch 1. Given that the OPPO Watch 2 went on sale just a few weeks ago, it’s possible that this new watch may be a less-powerful device with a more inexpensive price tag. Let’s hope this watch doesn’t go missing in action like the OPPO Watch RX, which was introduced last year but never made it to market because of production issues.
However, there is a potential that the watch will run RTOS instead of the ColorOS Watch, although no specifics have been released about its capabilities yet.
Another piece of information provided by the Chinese leaker was that OPPO is already working on adapting its operating system for its forthcoming foldable handset and tablet. The development, on the other hand, is gradual, and the tablet will not be available for purchase anytime soon. However, there is a possibility that it will launch with the Reno7 series, which is expected to arrive before the end of the calendar year.
This means that the Reno7 series will most likely launch in December, giving it approximately six months to transition from the Reno6 series, which was announced in May. Details should start to emerge once we reach the fourth quarter of the year.
